WEARING: DressLily choker, DIY chopped tee, Urban Outfitters jeans, Steve Madden booties, Jack and Lucy hat, JORD watch, Ray-Ban sunglasses
Admittedly I'm not a huge accessorizer, I get easily intimidated by the thought of piling on jewelry and hats and more in a perfectly orchestrated balance. However, the world of accessories gets a little more approachable when coated in my favorite color palate: black and white. This jeans/tee combo is the perfect starter; a few inches chopped off the bottom of this tee add slight interest without being crazy revealing. The first add-on I reach for is always my Jord watch, it acts as a pop of color while remaining a neutral that blends with literally anything. Next up was my new DressLily choker, making a huge statement and balancing the black/white proportion. Up top, and the furthest from my comfort zone, is my Jack and Lucy hat. I'm not a hat person in the slightest, unless it's my OVO cap, but this wide brim fedora is so easy for me to confidently throw on top of any outfit.
And there you have it: a choker-and-sunglasses gal wearing layers upon layers of little add-ons that work together to complement without overriding the entire look. Straying outside the comfort zone is simplified with a familiar color palate and simple statements.
